The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold Certificates were presented by His Royal Highness the Duke of York to 100 youth from across British Columbia at Government House in Victoria on May 18, 2013.

The Nanaimo RCMP have released a composite sketch of a male who attempted to grab a female in late March as she walked through a parking lot at Vancouver Island University. The incident occurred on Thursday March 28th at approximately 6:45 PM in a parking lot near Building 180. The 20 year old female student was not physically injured and managed to fight the male off. She then ran and alerted security.

At approximately 5:00 pm on May 21st, 2013, the Port Alberni RCMP received a 9-1-1 call from a 16 year old girl who stated she had been assaulted in the area of the railroad tracks by Roger Creek Park, near Gertrude and Roger Streets.

A 37 year old Kelowna man faces charges of aggravated assault after a 20 year old Kelowna man was stabbed early Saturday morning.
